Processing and manufacturing continues to affirm its key role, promoting industrial production to accelerate

The General Statistics Office has just said that in August alone, the IIP is estimated to increase by 2.9% over the previous month and by 15.6% over the same period last year, in which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 16.2%.

In the past 8 months, the index of industrial production (IIP) is estimated to increase by 9.4% over the same period in 2021. The number of employees working in industrial enterprises as of August 1, 2022 also increased. with an impressive rate (23.2%) compared to the same period in 2021. In August alone, IIP is estimated to increase by 2.9% compared to the previous month and 15.6% over the same period last year, of which, the industry processing and manufacturing increased by 16.2%. Next is the electricity production and distribution industry, which increased by 14.8%; water supply, management and treatment of waste and wastewater increased by 11%; mining industry increased by 10.2%.

In the first 8 months of 2022, IIP is estimated to increase by 9.4% over the same period last year (in the same period in 2021, it will increase by 5.5%). The processing and manufacturing industry increased by 10.4% (in the same period in 2021, it increased by 7%), contributing 8.1 percentage points to the overall growth; water supply industry, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities increased by 5.8%, contributing 0.1 percentage points; the mining industry increased by 4.2%, contributing 0.6 percentage points to the overall increase.

Since the beginning of the year, the IPP index over the same period in 2021 has increased in 61 localities and decreased in 2 localities across the country (Tra Vinh down 26.6%, Ha Tinh down 15%).

A number of key industrial products in the 8 months increased sharply compared to the same period last year, including: Beer up 31.2%; processed seafood increased by 20.7%; phone components increased by 19.6%; automobiles increased by 13.9%; casual wear increased by 12.7%; leather shoes and sandals increased by 12.5%; tobacco increased by 9.6%.

In the opposite direction, products that decreased compared to the same period last year were: Iron, crude steel decreased by 12.3%; television down 10.7%; mixed fertilizer NPK decreased by 6%; fabrics made from man-made fibers decreased by 5.8%; mobile phones down 5.4%; aqua feed decreased by 4.9%; liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) decreased by 2.4%; crude oil exploitation decreased by 1%; when burning natural gas, it decreases by 0.5%.
